FAQ

✷ Is this festival for kids?
Sea Slug Animation Festival’s programming is curated with adults in mind. The 2026 films may contain sexuality, violence, gore, nudity, war, mental illness, death, and loss. They may also include abstract, experimental, and non-narrative styles that may be less engaging for very young viewers. That being said, you know the young people in your life best! If you think they would enjoy the program, we welcome anyone ages 3–12 who is accompanied by both a ticket and an adult.

✷ What kind of content is in this year’s films? If you have questions around specific sensitive contact that might appear, we welcome you to contact us and our programming team will be happy to advise!

✷ How do I get to the 2026 festival?
All films will play at SIFF Cinema Uptown. Check out the venue’s page for information on how to get there and where to park. All other events are located a short walking distance (5-10 minutes) from the theater; the Artist Alley will be hosted at SIFF Film Center, a few blocks away on the Seattle Center campus.

✷ What’s the physical accessibility like? All festival events are wheelchair accessible and a short to moderate distance from each other by wheelchair (10-15 minutes). There are 6 accessible theater seats for patrons in wheelchairs and their companions. There are no stairs required to enter the film screenings, Kick Off Party, or Anim-Mixer. The Artist Alley is up one flight of stairs, and there is a lift that can take single passengers upstairs from the lobby; a Sea Slug or SIFF team member can assist patrons with using the lift. Detailed seat measurements for the movie theater are available on the SIFF Cinema Uptown page.

✷ Will there be open captions?
With the exception of Endless Cookie, all films containing dialogue will be shown with open English-language subtitles or captions, including English-language films. Films without dialogue will not have open captions or closed captions available. Endless Cookie will be available with closed captions only. Please let a SIFF staff member at concessions know if you’d like to utilize a close caption device at this screening.

✷ What styles of restrooms are available? The movie theater and Artist Alley venue have gender neutral restrooms: one with stalls only and one with both stalls and urinals. All bathrooms have a wheelchair accessible stall. Patrons are invited to use the restroom that feels most comfortable to them.

✷ Do you have a masking policy? We encourage masking in all festival spaces to prevent the spread of airborne pathogens, although masking is optional. We will have a limited amount of complimentary, surgical style masks available for patrons at the theater.
